Little wiggles

It's amazing, as a parent, how exciting it is when your child makes even the smallest amount of growth. Yesterday Luke was laying on his little play mat and he wiggled himself around 90 degrees! It seems like the smallest most insignificant thing, but we were so excited about it! This little baby, who just three months ago, couldn't do a thing for himself is now learning how to get around on his own.

I have never understood our Heavenly Father's love for us quite the same as I do now that I have a child. I like to think that He is proud of us in the same way. Maybe today I learn how to be a little more self reliant, or I put a little bit more of my time into service for others, I could be wrong, but I think even those small, seemingly insignificant amounts of growth make our Heavenly Father happy, and make him beam with pride that we are His children.

The thought just gives me courage to keep going even if it feels like I'm not really getting anywhere. Today it's a 90 degree turn, but tomorrow it's a first step. It may take a while, but we keep progressing and over time we will be able to see how far we've come!

Isn't being a mom the best job ever? I wouldn't trade all the money in the world for missing my kids' 90 degree turns. It wouldn't be worth it! Yay for Luke!
